We recommended taking:

- Rain gear (jacket and pants if available) or rain poncho (plastic ponchos can be purchased in Cusco)
- Swimsuit (if you intend to go to the hot springs in Aguas Calientes)
- Strong footwear, waterproof trekking boots recommended
- Flashlight, camera, binoculars, films and batteries
- Hat or cap to protect you from the sun, rain and cold
- Sun block, after-sun cream or hydrating cream for face and body
- Insect repellent – minimum recommended 20% DEET
- Personal first-aid kit
- Snacks: biscuits, energy bars, chocolate, raw fruits, muesli, etc.
- Canteen of water (you could recharge every morning, not recommend buying plastic bottles)
- Cash in soles and/or US
- Obligatory: Passport original
- Optional: walking sticks or poles

If you want to climb Huayna Picchu and NOT miss the guided part in the citadel of Machu Picchu in shared service tour lasts 2.5 hours; we recommend you:
1) Sleeping overnight in Aguas Calientes
2) Take a guided private service + USD 50 per group tour. The schedule could be 2.00 pm to 4.30 pm.
3) Another option is to take the train from Ollanta at 5:07 a.m. and arrives at 6:34 a.m. to Aguas Calientes. They could easily reach 7.45 am for the start of the first group and then ascend at 10:45 am mountain Huayna Picchu. With this option should add + USD 15 per person (based on 2 passengers) as the pick up from your hotel in Cusco will be at 3.00am in private service.
